My little boy was the inspiration for this piece and how he views new experiences and learning with such excitement and awe.
All the products used are listed in the steps below.
Next I placed Finnabair's Harliquin stencil over the writing and pressed a VersaMark pad over the stencil. I then covered the wet ink with Ultra Thick Embossing powder and heated up with my heat tool.
I Painted three luggage tags with Dylusions paint in Melted Chocolate and let them completely dry.
Using the same Hero Arts stamp and VersaMark ink I stamped over the tags and again added the same embossing powder and dried with the heat tool.
Using Martha Stewart Satin paint in Surf I sponged a generous amount over the entire tags.
When the paint turns tacky I lightly rub over the writing with a baby wipe to reveal the brown underneath, which gives a lovely aged effect.
Next I cut 3 small squares of corrugated card and using a palette knife I spread Liquetex modelling paste over Mini Mix & Match Hearts stencil by Balzer Designs on to the pieces of card. I chose a different design from each of the small hearts for each square.
I then cut the squares into hearts leaving an edge of cardboard visible around them.
Once dry I used a small brush to paint the modelling paste with Inka Gold Paste in Copper. This gives a beautiful metallic finish and dries very quickly.
I cut 3 small pieces of cheese cloth and dyed them using Lidys Stamp Gang Spray in Cowabunga Copper.
I then attached the cheesecloth and the cardboard hearts to the tags and added some teal coloured micro beads in places using Art Basics 3D Matte Gel.
I also added some tiny pieces of copper foil while the 3D Gel was still wet.
Next I cut 3 pieces of Dry wall tape and stuck them to the pages where I wanted to tags to be positioned over them. Using the same Inka Gold in Copper I brushed over the areas of the dry wall tape that would be on show.
I then Glued the tags down using the 3D Matte Gel.
I applied a layer of gesso to the chipboard and then sprayed both the chipboard and a piece of torn up Kitchen towel with Lindy's Stamp Gang spray in Time Travel Teal.
Once dry I added them both to the page, again using the 3D Gel.
I decided on some wording using Tim Holtz Stickers and distressed the edges with Tim Hotlz Distress Stain in Tea Dye. I then Glued in the words with Tombow Glue.
For a finishing touch I added some Bo Bunny self adhesive Gems and a wooden butterfly embellishment.
I hope you enjoyed this little step by step.
